Task Two- Topic: Thought on Restaurant Survey Interview
After you having been interviewed, following finishing a delicious meal with your family and friends at a Chinese restaurant you were asked to conduct a survey which are generated randomly by machinery electronically in Chinese orally and you would need to response in Chinese orally as well, to help them to improve their services and market their business.
Task:

Task Four – Topic: Thought on My School Life
As a student at Westlake Girls High School, you have a general knowledge of how New Zealand’s education system and national examinations and assessments work, and you also have a good knowledge of Westlake Girls High School environment, the functions of departments and locations of buildings. You are chosen to represent school to go China with International Department to attend World Education Expo to attract high school students at Shanghai in China to go aboard to New Zealand to study at Westlake Girls High School.
Task:
During the World Education Expo, you are asked to write an article to describe all possible information you can think of or visitors would possible like to know about.

The biggest international sport event, Rugby World Cup 2011 which New Zealand had ever hosted since 1987, is around the corner. During Rugby World Cup 2011 period, from the beginning of September till the end of October, we will expect hundreds of thousands competitors and visitors from many different countries to come New Zealand. Even though English is now international language, but we will expect some people still need help in some ways in their own languages, especially Mandarin help for Chinese visitors. Since there are only few of New Zealand high schools provide Mandarin classes, as a student learning Mandarin at high school, you are chosen to be a volunteer at information center set up at some key places, such as Eden Park Stadium, Albany Stadium and City Centre…etc. to help Chinese mandarin speakers to direct or guide them to the place they would like to go and visit, whenever they need your help.
Task:

Task Six - Topic: Thought on Westlake Chinese Night Promotion
The first Westlake Chinese Night had been successfully held at Westlake Boys Auditorium on the Fri 29 July at the end of term 2 2011. As a student in Chinese class, you are requested and you would also like to promote Chinese Night 2012 to some Chinese students who are at other schools and/or are old and/or new coming to Westlake Girls High School and did not attend Westlake Chinese Night 2011.
Task:
Your would need to write an article in Chinese to persuade people to come Chinese Night 2012 by telling her what had happened at Westlake Chinese Night 2011 and what would be presented at Chinese Night 2012. You could also persuade them to give up some activities which they are possibly normally doing or possibly have planned to do, by expressing ‘no interest’, ‘boring’, ‘….
Your writing could include the following points
· Something good and worth to participate
· How often this event happens compared to other activities. (Use of ‘mei’ to state frequency)
· Express no interest and boring about something to discourage your partner. (Use of ‘bushi’…’jiushi’ to state ‘if not.., it will be ….’
· Encourage your partner by describing how interesting or/and exciting this event was and will to be. (Use of ‘you….you….’ to link all positive describing words, to stress and enhance this event)
· Express about interests
· State about the degree of comparisons
