1.3 Task 6 Chinese Night
The first Westlake Chinese Night had been successfully held at Westlake Boys Auditorium on the Fri 29 July at the end of term 2 2011. As a student in Chinese class, you are requested and you would also like to promote Chinese Night 2012 to some Chinese students who are at other schools and/or are old and/or new coming to Westlake Girls High School and did not attend Westlake Chinese Night 2011.
Your conversation would need to persuade your partner to come Chinese Night 2012 by telling her what had happened at Westlake Chinese Night 2010 and what would be presented at Chinese Night 2012. You could also persuade her to give up some activities which she is normally doing or has planned to do, by expressing ‘no interest’, ‘boring’, ‘….
You need to convince your partner to go for Westlake Chinese Night 2011, you would be challenged to be told that she have her scheduled routine activities or have arranged other activities or negatively thinks about this event. Your conversation could include the following,
- · Something good and worth to participate
- · How often this event happens compared to other activities. (Use of ‘mei’ to state frequency)
- · Express no interest and boring about something to discourage your partner. (Use of ‘bushi’…’jiushi’ to state ‘if not.., it will be ….’
- · Encourage your partner by describing how interesting or/and exciting this event was and will to be. (Use of ‘you….you….’ to link all positive describing words, to stress and enhance this event)
- · Express about interests
- · State about the degree of comparisons
